Meet The Team:
Torc is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to join a teamresponsible for ensuringTorc’sproducts meet the highest safety and security standards whiledeliveringsuperior business value. As a Staff SystemsEngineer, you will be at the forefront of transforming data intoactionableinsights forthe engineering organization here at Torc. You willcollaboratedirectly with awidearray ofengineering, product, safety, and legal teamstodesign metrics andset performance targetsforproductreleases.
WhatYou’llbe doing:
- Developtargets for safety, performance, quality, and processmetrics that demonstraterelease readiness
- Lead and communicate data analyses and trade studies that provide teams with all the information needed to develop and continuously improve the systems function and performance
- Lead theanalysis of naturalisticdriving data tovalidateassumptions, rationalize performance, and ensure defensibility of technical baselines
- Work atthehighestlevels of abstraction within the productto define and trackmetrics
- Work with Validation to understand changes in performance to quickly address technical gaps
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers,PMO (Program Management Office), and all relevant partners to ensure design, implementation, and programs are on track, and regularly drive consensus among diverse partners on technical projects.
WhatYou’llNeed to Succeed:
- Demonstrate competences and technical proficiencies acquired through:
- BS+ 10+ years of experience, MS+ 7+ years of experience, or PHD+ 5+ years of experience.
- 4+ years of experience in hardware, software, or systems engineering,roboticsor relatedtechnicalfields
- 2+ years of experience in systems analysisand design or data analytics
- Experience with C/C++ or Python
- Experience working with large datasets
- Familiarity with Cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Familiarity with analyses for reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability,product assurance and other non-functional quality factors
- A hyper sense of attention to detail with an iterative approach in completing enterprise goal
- Ability to understand complex technical systems
- Ability to adapt andoperateunder ambiguity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
- Critical thinking skills - interpret what the data is telling us, and which analyses will reveal impactful conclusions

- Strong background in autonomous vehicle safety assessments
- Experiencein applyingmodeling and simulation in support ofsystem analyses
- Experience in deploying analysis Automation at scale and UX design for reporting tools
