This is a position in Quality Engineering responsible for implementing and driving the performance test strategy for SignifyHealth. You will regularly work with scrum teams and management to plan and execute effective and efficient automation and performance testing solutions to accomplish timely delivery of high-quality software products.
What will you do?
- Quantify the performance characteristics of the system under test
- Identify performance bottlenecks, system inefficiencies, and areas for improvement through performance profiling, monitoring, and analysis
- Work closely with the development team to review code, execute performance optimizations, and ensure adherence to performance engineering best practices
- Plan a strategy to apply software design principles and patterns to performance scripts and tests to promote reusability, extensibility, and valid test simulation execution
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and various technical and business partners to derive and define the performance objective and plan for technical performance engineering solutions
- Define applicable performance metrics and leverage application monitoring tools to capture performance metrics
- Provide technical leadership, coordination, and training to globally distributed team members
- Possess an ownership mentality to drive performance quality and advocate for overall system and software quality
- Drive and own the implementation of various elements of the technical roadmap for performance
- Be familiar with the tools and technologies that your scrum team is using. This includes, but is not limited to, the programming languages, build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and environment configurations
- Lead and participate in Dora Metrics, look for improvements for better engineering efficiencies
- Train/mentor new QE team members on skills and/or processes
Requirements:
- 8 years of experience with enterprise-level performance tools JMeter, K6, Locust, (LoadRunner for the Enterprise/Performance Center, or BlazeMeter)
- Programming experience in any programming or scripting language (Javascript, Groovy, Python, Java, C, C#, Bash and/or PowerShell scripting)
- Thorough understanding of performance test tool architecture, design, and components
- Test Automation – In addition to creating/modifying test scripts, proficient in implementing major changes or upgrading the automation framework
- Databases - Write queries against principal tables/documents, understanding of db migrations/db schema augmentation
- Monitoring - Creating dashboards, insights, or new application monitors using New Relic or similar tools
- Cloud Infrastructure - Ability to use and configure Azure cloud services
The base salary hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $165,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
