Job Description

Manage assigned donor accounts in support of the Oxfam International confederation, focusing particularly on large US foundation donors. The ultimate goal is to obtain increased support from US-based foundations, principally through developing and implementing donor engagement strategies which align the interests of Oxfam and institutional donors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with fellow IFP team members, manage the relationships for assigned accounts, including developing and implementing funding strategies for assigned accounts; research foundation funding to inform strategy and build revenue pipeline; arrange for and conduct cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities; and participate in overall unit plans for development support.
  • Serve as Donor Account Manager on behalf of the Oxfam confederation for one or more prominent US foundation donors.
  • Maintain processes for effective donor account/constituent management, including protocols for sharing information, communicating and engagement, with high levels of satisfaction among all key internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain an overview of all donor submissions, grants, and awards, and share information on opportunity pipeline data and key performance indicators.
  • Identify areas of mutual strategic interest between donors and Oxfam programs, assess opportunities to grow relationships with account(s), and regularly share information on funding trends.
  • Maintain an up-to-date set of guidelines on donor requirements and an overview of key risks, terms, and conditions, and provide effective support in grant management to prevent auditing and compliance problems, returned funds and reputational risks.
  • Support proposal and report submission, including the provision of quality assurance on funding proposals developed by program teams and direct assistance on proposals as requested.
  • Build capacity of Oxfam global offices through sharing of information on grant management and donor compliance, provision of training materials and tools, and promote consistency in approach and compliance across Oxfam affiliates.
  • Work with Oxfam leadership, program, policy, and fundraising staff globally to cultivate and manage Oxfam’s relationships with the donor(s) at head and/or regional office levels.
  • .Manage the process for new calls for proposals from assigned account(s) as applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with program/policy staff and others to make programs and initiatives more marketable to funders. Write and/or edit proposals and reports, including the narrative and financial segments, as well as cover letters, contact reports, briefings, talking points and related material as appropriate to support fundraising strategies.
  • Provide guidance to program/policy staff on information required for proposals and reports to support successful fundraising. Elicit program/policy staff agreement on meeting reporting obligations to donors prior to submission of proposals. Work with the program staff to assure plans and systems are in place in order to gather the required information for reporting according to agreed timetables.
  • Remain current on trends in US foundation giving. Undertake donor-related travel as appropriate. Share that learning internally.
  • Be well versed in Oxfam programs and, as needed, act as a resource to staff regarding program knowledge.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Proven ability to cultivate positive relationships with US foundation donors, staff, board members and volunteers,
  • Excellent listening and motivational skills; comfort working with a variety of personal styles; ability to keep situations from escalating into larger issues and to mitigate/resolve conflicts that do arise.
  • Strong time management, organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software, including Microsoft Excel and experience with fundraising databases such as Salesforce.
  • Ability to manage complex proposal development with multiple applicants and interlocking budgets.
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic analysis and project planning.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • High degree of initiative and commitment to goal attainment and quality standards.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable Oxfam policies and practices, as well as relevant donor restrictions and be able to effectively communicate those to Oxfam colleagues globally.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices relative to US foundations.
  • Knowledge of restricted funding budget construction and interpretation.

Job Description

The Senior Financial and Data Analyst is a key member of the finance team, providing foundational business partnering for annual and project budgeting/forecasting. The position will co-develop data-driven reporting and analysis for the business and support standard reporting efforts to Oxfam International (OI), including specifically the annual CONSOL (Common Oxfam Norms, Standards & Objects in Ledgers) submission. The ideal candidate thrives in delivering solutions to complex problems and has an affinity for data analysis and developing financial management reporting in support of decision making and impact. The candidate is a strong team player comfortable working in an international, fast paced, and dynamic environment where the tasks may get reprioritized constantly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Budgeting Support (40%)

  • Work with the Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to develop and maintain financial models for financial planning purposes in accordance with annual targets set by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Partner closely with countries, budget managers, divisional leadership, and the Strategy team throughout the annual planning process to understand operational resource needs.
  • Support budget managers through the bottom-up process to prepare department and project budgets, to address resource requirements of divisional and cross-functional annual operating plans.
  • Assist in on-boarding of new budget managers.
  • Support directors and budget managers to ensure that annual and project budgets are complete, accurate, and conform with OUS policies, procedures, and donor-approved restricted project budgets.
  • Work with the Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to analyze the budget and prepare financial reporting as needed, at the direction of the CFO, to support Board approval of annual budget.
  • Work with Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Award Management and Compliance, and key stakeholders to develop and maintain client-centric analytical tools, financial models, and business processes to streamline and improve reporting and budgeting procedures.

Reporting & Analysis (35%)

  • Develop and produce the monthly management reporting package, at direction of CFO, for executive management, including monthly dashboards and variance analyses.
  • Provide decision/analytical support and ad-hoc management information reporting as assigned.
  • Provide a positive redundancy for timely and accurate annual and periodic CONSOL-compliant reports to support decision-making by OI and OUS management.
  • Run ad-hoc reports as needed in from the financial system (UBW and Power Bi), including standard reports as well as advanced queries to support analyses and/or client needs.

Business Intelligence and Budgeting Systems Analysis (25%)

  • Drive medium to large scale projects for the creation and maintenance of business intelligence reports and services to address emerging needs.
  • Analyze data and communicate insights and metrics needed to support top business goals with key partners.
  • Interact with partners to comprehend day-to-day operations and pain points, detail, and report business requirements to management, and provide recommendations how to increase efficiency of business applications.
  • Partner with colleagues within Finance and with TIM creating test plans and validating data and processes related to system enhancements.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer on business applications for Unit4 Planner, Dashboard reporting etc. as assigned.
  • High-level Customer Service
  • Demonstrate customer service leadership in representing FP&A products and services to stakeholders and responding to requests promptly, anticipating others’ needs, and collecting feedback for meaningful continuous improvement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Document Quality Review (Reporting) Specialist, you will provide high-level operations support to the service delivery organization by working to assemble, format, and review time-sensitive and highly technical reports. The ability to utilize Microsoft Word at an expert level, to assemble and format the reports, at established industry standards and following internal policies and procedures is critical.   • Work with managing auditors to obtain and document necessary information 
  • Upload all documents to the proper client folder on OneDrive 
  • Respond to email inquiries within 24 hours 
  • Utilize good time management - meeting tight deadlines are crucial (24-48 hour turn around on reports) 
  • Execute requests from managing auditors in a timely manner 
  • Create draft reports and/or proofread and edit final reports 
  • Deliver completed draft and final reports to the Quality Assurance Team for review 
  • Format tables and documents 
  • Enter all draft report and final report requests into the reporting database 
  • Create any new procedures and edit and update existing procedures 
  • Create new templates and update existing templates as needed 
  • Train new hires in all practices and procedures

What does the role involve?

As a Social Media & Texting intern at Middle Seat, you’ll learn the ins and outs of digital communications, fundraising, and mobilization. You’ll be responsible for assisting with text message production and quality assurance, taking the first stab at copywriting for social posts and texts, compiling social media reporting and monitoring through SproutSocial, creating short-form videos or graphics, completing administrative tasks, and other responsibilities as requested. 

This role is available either in person at our Washington, D.C office or remotely. This role is not part of the bargaining unit.

  • Verify Financial Aid for students and assist them through the process.
  • Make virtual appointments for students with Financial Aid in Amarillo.
  • Act as the main contact for instructors and industry trainers needing on-campus technology assistance and trouble-shooting computer projection equipment.
  • Make student appointments for advisors.
  • Schedule Texas Success Initiative (TSI) testing appointments and verify advising and testing appointments.
  • Input TSI, college, bridge/prep scores.
  • Inform students of account balances, prepare deposits, assist instructors, make copies, take printer monies, and balance cash drawer. 
  • Run student degree plan and test score reports for staff and students.
  • Approve students to register for classes.
  • Collect and disburse academic and continuing education credit forms, process enrollment verification requests and academic transcript requests.
  • Process textbook orders for students.
  • Check in visitors. 
  • Open/close building, disburse campus mail daily, and process regular and bulk mail.
  • Assist in calling students when classes are cancelled.
  • Assist Student Services department in getting students referred.
