Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to envisioning, creating, and delivering authorized cloud solutions built on the DNAnexus global platform and change the paradigm for interaction between global pharmaceutical companies, and international regulators and patient advocacy groups. You will work directly with the FDA and other international regulators, global pharmaceutical companies, large systems integrators, and patient advocacy groups to advance a wide range of regulatory science and review objectives, while directly contributing to growing Regulatory Solutions revenue and company value.

You will be an expert representative for precisionFDA, working with the DNAnexus Chief Cloud Officer and precisionFDA Program Director and Engineering Team to envision new and enhanced capabilities, and to drive the strategic scientific research and regulatory advancement projects that are rapidly extending DNAnexus' reach into the international regulatory space.

Your work will cover a wide range of disciplines and there will be many opportunities to learn.

Qualifications

The role requires:

Salary and Other Compensation:
The total annual cash compensation for this position is between $125K and $160K with both a base salary and annual bonus component. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

We are searching for a remote Software Engineer II, Embedded to support software activities as we develop new technologies for Fender products. You are a self-starter, with a proven ability to continuously learn on your own.

Essential Functions:

  • Support new technology development from concept to mass production
  • Manage, design, architect, and develop embedded firmware solutions following best practices
  • Utilize common test equipment to debug hardware and firmware issues
  • Define tasks and deliver solutions within program schedule guidelines
  • Maintain design documentation and deliverables using configuration control systems
  • Communicate regularly with management on project status and risks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years of embedded system design experience required
  • Must be proficient in C / C++, object-oriented design, Git SCM, and Agile processes
  • Real-time ARM and/or DSP software experience
  • Device driver development experience
  • Ability to design, develop, and test solutions based on written specifications
  • Experience in kernel level development and deployment of embedded Linux solutions preferred
  • System-level analysis and architecture skills, understanding hardware/software trade-offs highly desirable
  • Ideally, possesses a passion for audio recording, mixing, live sound, and/or music
  • Understanding of mixed signal electronic design with an emphasis on audio preferrable

Team background: Our team owns the inner loop development experience at Cruise, from configuring cloud-based development environments, and hosting source code, to orchestrating code events, and defining the workflow for code search, coverage, and review. Role: We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with an extensive engineering background, with experience using a variety of developer tools and technologies, and who is passionate about developer productivity. As a leader on this team, we are looking for someone who cares deeply about the technical development of other engineers on the team and is able to effectively balance the needs and priorities of the business, our users, and the growth of our engineers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ship improvements to our AV development toolchains and services which have a measurable and direct impact on engineering productivity and our core company metrics
  • Identify engineering pain points and propose/design/implement solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable
  • Influence the team’s technical roadmap
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies through PoCs
  • Drive software engineering best practices both within your team and across the company, and create tooling which encourages these
  • Mentor and grow engineers on the team

What you must have:

  • 6+ years experience designing, building, and operating highly reliable production systems in the cloud
  • Experience writing Go and grpc, or a desire to learn
  • Attention to detail, and a desire to improve processes & systems around you
  • Ability to lead and influence others, both internal and external to the team
  • Ability to research, document, communicate, and defend proposals and take critical feedback
  • Ability to effectively make trade-offs and communicate the reasoning
  • Passion for mentoring and growing junior developers
  • Passion for self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world

The salary range for this position is $142,800 - 210,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
